Emerald Physics EP2.3 OB spkrs-GREAT Jan.2015 TAS review
The EP2.3 was formerly called the CS2.3 MK2. Customers are comparing the EP2.3 to speakers in the $20-$30k retail range. See the Jan 5, 2015 The Absolute Sound review at:http://www.theabsolutesound.com/articles/emerald-physics-cs23-mk-ii-loudspeaker/Paul Seydor sums with:"This speaker excels in so many areas, including those that are central for the truthful reproduction of music in the home, that they warrant the highest recommendation. When you factor in their price—$4800 a pair in the current configuration then their value is quite off the charts."See our new video tour at: http://www.avshowrooms.com/Emerald_Physics_Tour.htmlOur new Show place in Broomfield, Colorado is now available for auditions. Four Emerald Physics systems are set up. Call for an appointment. Virtually every customer who hears them there buys a pair. Emerald continues to get Best Affordable Sound at the Shows. We have received it for the Newport, Axpona and now RMAF from both Stereophile and The Absolute Sound. We must be doing something right. And yes we are, by offering tremendous sound at very low prices with no dealer profits. And built in the USA. Save $1150.00 on a new pair of EP2.3’s. Plus you can buy any of our 3 amps if you need a second amp to biamp for 50% off. Our $1000.00 EP-60.2 is only $500.00. The $1600.00 EP100.2 is $800.00 while the $2200.00 EP100.2SE is only $1100.00. Plus we can now offer these speakers with a full range crossover so you do not need to biamp them. In the October 2013 Newport Beach show report Paul Seydor said: “The CS2.3 mk2 offered simply the most precise imaging and best soundstaging I have ever heard anywhere; for once and without exaggeration I could use the word holographic. Dynamic range is extremely wide, bass response subterranean, midrange rich and open. Orchestral music is spectacular while Sinatra on “Angel eyes” is palpably present, three dimensional and spookily real- also rare at this show a true baritone (it took all of maybe 20 seconds before a smile appeared on my wife’s face). Biamping is required but the crossover is supplied. If this thing performs in most rooms the way it did here it may be just about the best performance per dollar I know in high end loudspeakers.” We are now shipping our new EP2.3 (formerly called CS2.3 MK2). This speaker was the hit of the Newport Beach show (see above reviewer comment) with many listeners commenting that we outperformed systems selling for 5-10 times our price. We have an intro deal this month at $1150.00 off, just $4800.00 for a $5950.00 set. Plus you can buy any of our amps for 50% off to run the midrange/tweeters in a biamped system if you need a second amp. Use your amp for the bass and ours for the midrange and highs. We also have the beautiful $1200.00 Tri-coat finish option available for 40% off at only $720.00. The new Emerald Physics EP2.3 is an upgrade to the CS2.3 that garnered great raves. The CS2.3 was a radical step forward and a worthy successor to the legendary CS2. This new EP2.3 version does not use a single part from the original CS2.3 and offers a major step forward in sonics. Emerald speakers are unique in the following ways: 1) Our controlled dispersion design eliminates the room over 300Hz 2) Our open baffle design eliminates box cost as well as all box coloration’s 3) Our DSP speaker control eliminates frequency aberrations for amazingly flat response 4) Our design allows very good performance with inexpensive electronics although better electronics will make the speakers sound better. 5) Our equalized pro drivers are extremely low distortion and play very loud with virtually no listener fatigue 6) Our point source midrange offers exceptional imaging combined with the huge soundstage of planar designs. With all new drivers, passive outboard crossovers, Emerald DSP, upgraded baffles and cosmetics, the EP2.3 is a true 3-way, 4 driver bi-amplified (or Triamplified or single amped now), full range dipole speaker design. It can also be run now with a single full range amplifier. Cutting edge sonic performance establishes a new level of realism and dimensionality at anywhere near its cost, or as our customers can attest to even double or triple their cost. The EP2.3 uses the new Emerald Physics designed custom designed Point Source 12" midrange and compression tweeter along with two Emerald Physics custom designed long throw 15" woofers. These woofers move 80% more air than the woofers used in the original CS2.3, while the midrange moves twice as much and the tweeter is far more linear. Our unique Aperture Bass Propagation technology, as introduced in the original CS2.3, is continued in the EP2.3. This proprietary system is used for both 15" dipole woofers, improving low frequency power and linearity, while retaining all the speed and articulation of the original 2.3. DSP equalization and active crossover functions are provided by the included new Emerald Physics DSP2.4 Digital crossover/EQ processor. There is also an optional upgradable outboard passive midrange/tweeter crossover and our beautiful new cosmetics. We now also offer the speaker in a full range single amp version. The EP2.3 was redesigned from the ground up using the original Emerald Physics design concepts with all new parts. There are no parts from the original CS2.3 used in this new version. EP2.3 Pricing: Standard Satin black semi gloss finish with DSP Processor ..... $5999/prIntro sale this month for $4,800.00 a pair. SAVE $1199.00 A Special Edition passive crossover is also available as a $600.00 a pair option. On sale this month for $300.00 Shown in black Tri-coat. Emerald Physics KC II Intro deal on New Open Baffle spe...
Introducing the Emerald Physics KC II open baffle loudspeaker. Now shipping in limited quantity The KC II is our least expensive speaker and sets a new standard in value in high end loudspeakers. The KC II is 93Db efficient, runs off of one amp and does not need DSP to sound great. Just introduced at the Newport show & shipping in late July the KC II offers audiophiles true high end performance on a tight budget. Performance for the money is off the scale. But don't take our word for it. Here is what the experts are saying http://www.theabsolutesound.com/articles/2015-newport-audio-show-report/ Best Sound (for the money): (Paul Seydor) "Emerald Physics KCII speaker system ($2495/pr.) driven by Emerald’s EP100.2SE amplifier and Anti-Mode’s Dual 2.0 as preamp playing CDs from a modest Marantz player. This demo featured among the most involving overall sound that I heard at the show."Read the report at: http://www.theabsolutesound.com/articles/the-show-newport/ In Other News (Robert Harley) "Perhaps the best overall value at the show was the Emerald Physics KCII open-baffle loudspeaker system ($2499) driven by the company’s EP100.2SE hybrid power amplifier. The whole system was priced at just under $6k at retail, but offered at $3799. This system put many five-figure systems to shame."Read the report at: http://www.theabsolutesound.com/articles/cables-power-products-accessories-and-music/ Best of Show (Jim Hannon): "Best Sound (for the money): A tie between the very spacious and natural-sounding Magnepan system with three Maggie .7 speakers ($1400/pair) driven by Bryston electronics, and the Emerald Physics KC II open-baffle loudspeaker driven by an EP100.2SE 100Wpc hybrid digital amplifier." Read the report at: http://www.theabsolutesound.com/articles/the-show-2015-speakers-under-20000/ Five Most Significant Products (Dr. Robert E Greene) Emerald Physics KC II Loudspeaker"Emerald Physics was, as usual, showing exceptional products at really exceptionally low prices. In particular, the KC II open- baffle speakers at $2495 sounded very convincing musically and also looked spectacular, with an airbrushed faux wood finish that was to wood what Balthasar Neumann’s faux marble was to Baroque architecture—arguably more beautiful than the real thing. Emerald Physics was integrating its systems with DSPeaker’s room-correction and frequency-response adjustment devices. This seems to me very much the way that audio needs to go, offering as it does extraordinary—and adjustable—sound in domestically compatible packages at modest prices. People often wonder how serious audio can survive outside the 1% market. This is how."Best sound for the money: (Dr. Robert E Greene) "A tie between the Emerald Physics KC II, bringing really truthful sound in at really low prices, and the Lambert system for its unique naturalness, of vocal reproduction especially, with a footprint that is miniscule." A wonderful report from The Audio Traveler at: http://theaudiotraveler.com/2015/06/06/newport-2015-emerald-physics/The new Emerald Physics KC II is a 4 driver three way open baffle design with dual (2) custom 10" woofers and the custom Emerald Physics "Godzilla" 8" point source midrange/tweeter. It throws a large 3 dimensional soundstage and imaging is exceptional. Dynamics are extraordinary for a $2500.00 pair of speakers. They are easy to drive at 93Db efficient. The boxiness associated with all speakers in this price class is totally gone. Once you listen to an open baffle it is hard to go back to ordinary box designs. Our intro price is $1999.00 for the pair in black powder coat. With a $250.00 deposit in and the balance before shipment. These are amazing speakers for the price. Call to discuss these superb speakers at 770-667-5633..With a subwoofer and actively biamped with your amp and the subs amp they become even better. We have an intro deal with the $1200.00 Gallo Classico CL-S10 subwoofer and our $850.00 Emerald Physics DSP2.4 digital electronic crossover for only $2699.00. AMAZINGThe photos are of the show speakers in optional custom hand painted red burl finish, an $1800.00 option that is 40% off ($1080) if ordered this month. Bohlender Graebener FS-520 towers & CC-220 center (upgr...
I have a pair of BG (Bohlender Graebener) Radia FS-520 towers and a CC-220 center speaker in excellent condition for sale. These speakers have upgraded crossovers personally built by Danny Richie from GR Research. He completely overhauled them with Sonicap capacitors, Sonicap Platinum bypass in the tweeter, Sonicap Gen II bypass in the woofers, Erse inductors, upgraded wiring (16AWG solid core Electra copper wires), and Electra tube connectors. Then I lined the interior of the cabinets with No-Rez. They are fantastic speakers in stock form, but after the crossover upgrade, detail, clarity, dynamics are substantially improved. The soundstage is now wall to wall with see-through transparency. You'd be hard pressed to find better speakers under $5K. My asking price is for all 3 speakers. I no longer have the original boxes. Due to the size and weight, they're only available as local pick up only in Chino Hills. Demo available for serious buyers. The included $600.00 Special Edition crossovers have custom Emerald Physics caps, upgraded resistors, diodes and coils. These upgrades are the last bit of transparency and extra detail that the EP2.3 omits and makes them competitive with the best electrostats and $50-$100k box speakers offer. They keep the amazing soundstaging, imaging and dynamics of the EP2.3 as well as its superb tonal balance.See the EP2.3 (formerly CS2.3 MK2) review here:http://www.theabsolutesound.com/articles/emerald-physics-cs23-mk-ii-loudspeaker/ See the EP2.7 video from The Newport Beach show at:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PWG61r4gCnU&x-yt-ts=1406138979&x-yt-cl=71760083&feature=player_embedded#t=15The EP2.7 is a more refined version of the EP2.3 with better resolution, detail & micro dynamics. With its new state of the art 12" point source professional midrange/tweeter drive system, the EP2.7 is a true higher resolution step over the original CS2.3. The increased resolution, speed and inner detail of the EP2.7’s is exceptional. The speaker sounds more like an electrostatic in these areas. Imagine a high resolution planar with superb bass, dynamics and 97Db efficiency! Our Controlled Directivity design removes the listening room and allows the speakers to work in almost all rooms. The EP2.7 is a 3-way, 4 driver, bi-amplified, dipole speaker design. Cutting edge sonic performance establishes a new level of realism and dimensionality at its price. See our new video tour at: http://www.avshowrooms.com/Emerald_Physics_Tour.htmlAsk us about 6 MONTHS NO INTEREST & NO PAYMENTS thru PayPalIntroducing the new Emerald Physics EP4.3. Save $1000.00 for a limited time at Introductory prices. And get any of the Emerald amps for 50% off with purchase if you need a second amp to biamp. The $1000.00 EP60.2 at only $500.00 with purchase is excellent running the midrange/tweeters. The new Emerald Physics EP4.3 is the big brother to our EP3 and the little brother to our top selling EP2.3. It is the EP2.3 with a single, instead of two 15" woofers. Looked a little differently it is the EP3 with a 15" open baffle woofer for extended bass response and the ability to run without a subwoofer. The EP2.3 sounds the same as the EP4.3 with the exception of the last 8Hz in low bass. The EP4.3 goes to 28Hz and that is lower than 98% of the speakers sold today. The Absolute Sound said this about the EP2.3 (formerly CS2.3 MK2's):“The CS2.3 II offered simply the most precise imaging and best soundstaging I have ever heard anywhere; for once and without exaggeration I could use the word holographic. Dynamic range is extremely wide, bass response subterranean, midrange rich and open. If this thing performs in most rooms the way it did here, and given the quality of these hotel rooms that should be practically anywhere else, it may be just about the best performance per dollar I know in high-end loudspeakers.""This speaker excels in so many areas, including those that are central for the truthful reproduction of music in the home, that they warrant the highest recommendation. When you factor in their price—$4800 a pair in the current configuration (but see sidebar)—then their value is quite off the charts." Read the entire review here:http://www.theabsolutesound.com/articles/emerald-physics-cs23-mk-ii-loudspeaker/The EP4.3 comes with our $600.00 Special Edition midrange/tweeter crossover thta is optional for the 2.3 MK2. Efficiency is the same 95Db as the CS3 MK2 but bass response now extends to 28Hz in a small open baffle design that will fill virtually any room with Emerald’s unique sonic signature. And just like all Emerald designs the EP4.3 removes most of the rooms sonics so they will work in virtually all rooms. More than one customer has called our speakers Magnepan’s on steroids. Feel free to compare these to any $20k speaker and you will be amazed. With its new Emerald Physics designed 12" point source professional driver system, the EP4.3 is a true 3-way, bi-amplified, dipole, controlled directivity speaker. Cutting edge sonic performance establishes a new level of realism & dimensionality at anywhere near its Internet Direct cost. This new EP4.3 model does not share a single part from the original CS2 or CS3/2.3 series products. It has new outboard Special Edition crossovers, Emerald DSP crossover/EQ, new Emerald designed drivers, upgraded baffle, connectors and much improved cosmetics of the older CS series The new Emerald point source midrange/tweeter offers amazing imaging and soundstaging. The innovation continues in the Bass range with our unique Aperture Bass Propagation Technology. This proprietary system is used for the custom Emerald 15" dipole woofer, improving low frequency power and linearity, while improving on the speed and articulation of the original CS2.3. The new custom designed Emerald 15" woofer moves 80% more air than the original CS2.3 and CS2.7 woofers so a single 15 gets us almost as much bass as the dual 15’s of the older models. DSP equalization and active crossover functions are provided by the included Emerald Physics DSP2.4 Digital Processor and the upgraded included $600.00 passive Special Edition crossover uses custom Emerald Physics caps as well as many other upgraded parts & internal OCC long grain wire. Martin Logan Clarity Cherry Wood
I bought this clarity pair new about 10-12 years ago and have enjoyed them greatly. The panels were replaced about 12-18 months ago. Performance is flawless and the power supplies are included. Sorry, no boxes. Please don't think that 10-12 years is the expected longevity for ML panels as the old panels were working just fine. I decided to update them anyway since I had bought 4 more ML speakers (2 mains, center, and sub) to support cinematic duties. Call me crazy, but I wanted all of the panels to be new. Since the clarity's were replaced with new larger mains, they went to the rear for a supporting surround role. Now, I have matched the surrounds to the mains and the clarity's no longer have a good place in my home...so my wife says (we disagree on this point:)). When the panels were replaced, we also replaced the trim so you will notice that the trim around the panel is black and not the usual silver. All parts were purchased direct from ML. There are no DIY modifications. Only 1 speaker is photoed, but this sale is for the pair. Feel free to check out this link showing the original specs and cost from Martin Logans Website: http://www.martinlogan.com/products/clarity#reviews After inspecting the speakers for cosmetic flaws, I found one mark that is really more of a rub than a scratch. This is the speaker that was used for all of the photos and I bet your can't see it in the full size pictures. I never new it was there until I inspected for this sale. The pair of clarity's are located in Northern Indiana. I prefer local pick up, but will entertain shipping. Feel free to call me at 614-313-7930. Dominick
